Dr. Foster's Publications
Dr. Elaine Foster is a graduate of New York University and Nova Southeastern University. She is one of the original 10 psychologists trained to prescribe medicine in the United States. As a graduate of the Department of Defense's Psychopharmacology Demonstration Project (PDP) she trained civilian psychologists seeking prescriptive authority in Louisiana and New Mexico, which were the first states to achieve prescriptive authority for psychologists. She has been prescribing since 1994, first in the United States Air Force and currently as a prescribing psychologist in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She has continuously served as a subject matter expert for the APA's College of Professional Psychology and was one of the original developers of the Psychopharmacology Examination for Psychologist (PEP).
