Psychiatric Medication Therapy
Greetings! I've been working hard to open new appointments for 2023 and proud to say I've succeeded.
If you already have a therapist, I might be able to offer medicines alone. The latest research (and even some old research) shows that medicine alone is not enough to offer long-term relief. Without therapy, once you stop taking meds, the chances are high that your symptoms will come back. The Air Force helped me develop skills with both medicines and cognitive behavioral therapy. I have treated all kinds of conditions from Agoraphobia (fear of leaving the house) to Schizophrenia. If you are interested in combination therapy, please "Request a Call with Dr. Foster" button above to schedule a free screening call with me.
I will call you and ask basic information to see if I can help. The call is free. Why do I offer free calls? Because I've learned that a one to one conversation saves you and me time in the long run. Plus, I don't like charging your insurance if I'm not going to offer treatment even though it's neither illegal nor unethical. I'm retired from the USAF so I have time to be thoughtful about the patients I work with-- a true luxury!
The call should last no more than 15-30 minutes. After, I will let you know whether you are a good fit for my skill set and the time I have available. If you are, and you think I can help, I'll schedule an evaluation appointment to obtain a fuller history. This is called an “Intake evaluation”.
If you are looking for counseling ONLY, please know that I offer short-term, cognitive behavioral psychotherapy which typically lasts between 12 to 16 sessions. if you know you'll need long-term treatment, please look for another provider because that is not consistent with my orientation.
One more thing, if I don't take your insurance, I offer private pay sessions. My fee is $200 per 50 minute appointments. I am on almost all medicaid insurance panels but I don't take Medicare.
